In her senior year of high school, with the encouragement from your Art Teacher and Mother she decided to go to college to become
a professional "Artist". Renee' went on to graduate from the Art Institute of Boston in 1994 receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, with a major in Illustration/Commercial Art and a minor in Fine Art and Children's Book Illustration.
While studying at AIB, she worked in an Art Gallery as the Gallery Manager, as well as developing their Advertising Department. Shortly after graduating from college, in 1995 she decided to open her own Art Gallery/Decorative Painting Business, called "All Things Painted ", which she then changed to "MACMURRAY DESIGNS" in 2008.
In her original art gallery she began her career by selling her own original artwork and prints of Boston and the SouthShore, as well as branching into the decorative painting industry. Transforming old furniture into new beautiful works of art to resell in her retail space. Within months she was asked to custom hand paint furniture for her clients through her contacts of Designers and general public seeing the beautiful furniture in her display window of her Gallery, and within six months of being open, Renee' was asked to paint her first Mural.
From that point on, her business was transformed into a Mural Company, creating custom hand painted murals for residential and commercial properties. Over the 20 some years Renee' has received a tremendous amount of recognition throughout Boston and in her community for her Original Artwork, Custom House Portraits and Painted Murals. Which can be seen through out New England (Boston, South Shore, the Cape and Islands) and has been featured in numerous magazines such as: South Shore Living, Cape Cod Home & Islands, Home & Garden and Boston Magazine.
You will also see Renee's artwork printed as cards and displayed in all gift shops all along the Eastern Coast, from Maine to Florida, which is printed and distributed by East Coast Print Images, www.caswellgalleries.com
Currently, Renee' is slowly shifting from Mural Artist to Art Teacher. While continueing her Mural and custom artwork, Renee' is teaching private and group lessons to children and adults at her Art Studios, located on the Hingham/Weymouth/ Rockland line in Ma. ( Location: 200 Weymouth Street, Rockland Ma )
In the Fall of 2016, she purchased a 10,000 ft sq building and opened MacMurray Art & Wellness, Introducing a collaboration of Healing for your mind, body and soul through creativity and relaxation.
MacMurray Art & Wellness, offers a variety of Art Classes for Children and Adults as well as, services such as Reiki, Aromatherapy, Hypnosis and Message Therapy. As a part of the collaboration Renee' has also rents half of the building to 110 Fitness / Rock Steady Boxing, 110Fitness.org A fitness boxing gym that specializes in the exercise and rehabilitation of people with parkinson and other physical challenges.
It is a warm inviting environment for all ages to explore their creativity free of judgement, a perfect "Art Escape" from the intense and busy world we live in today.
This subtle transition in Renee's life/career from Artist / Painter to Teacher is a way for her to give back to the community and offer a place a peace and serenity.
